The treble plain hunts only as far as 4ths place. At the treble lead one bell makes seconds and the others dodge. When the treble makes 4ths the bells in 5-6 dodge.
The effect of this is that the working bells always dodge in 5-6 both up and down and they dodge in 3-4 unless they meet the treble.
If a bell dodges in 3-4 down it will lead and then dodge in 3-4 up. A bell which does not dodge in 3-4 down will lead and then make seconds over the treble and lead again and then not dodge in 3-4 up.

At a bob:
	the bell which would make 2nds runs out - then dodges 5-6 up and down and does not dodge 3-4 on the way down
	the bell which would dodge 3-4 down runs in to lead - does not dodge in 3-4 on the way up
	the bell which would dodge 3-4 up makes 4ths and goes in - it dodges in 3-4 on the way up

At a single:
	the bell which would make 2nds is unaffected
	the bell which would dodge 3-4 down makes 3rds and goes back up to dodge 5-6 up and down and does not dodge 3-4 on the way down
	the bell which would dodge 3-4 up makes 4ths and goes in (as at a bob) - it dodges in 3-4 on the way up

A tip to know whether to dodge in 3-4 on the way down - when you are dodging in 5-6 down is your first blow in 5ths over the treble? - if so the treble is making 4ths and it will be leading when you get to 3-4 so you will dodge in 3-4 down.
